About Me
My name is Thủy Tiên. I was born and raised in Long An, a lovely province right next to Ho Chi Minh City – so yes, I speak with a Southern Vietnamese accent and all the charm that comes with it!
I studied Business English at the University of Education in Ho Chi Minh City and spent almost two years teaching English. But recently, I felt the calling to try something new – teaching Vietnamese to foreigners. Why? Because I genuinely love this language, and I want to help others discover its beauty, fun quirks, and deep cultural roots.
In my class, it’s not just about grammar or tones. We’ll explore Vietnamese through food (I love to cook!), travel stories (I take way too many photos), and movies (feel free to send me your favorites!). Learning with me is like chatting with a friend – relaxed, enjoyable, and full of surprises!

Miss Nguyen makes class fun, engaging, and 9/10 times, I feel more confident in my abilities to speak Vietnamese. There are times where we can understand one another without needing to stop and explain something in English.

I used to dread coming to class, because learning a new language, especially Vietnamese is very difficult. However, cô giáo Nguyễn makes things fun. I get to learn about the language and Vietnam in a fun, engaging way.
Native Vietnamese have started commenting about how I sound like I'm born and raised from Southern Vietnam. While I'm not completely able to articulate myself in most situations or understand most conversations, I'm getting closer every day and it's not a painful process.

I started in a weird circumstance where I understood a lot of Vietnamese, but could not read + write. Our first few lessons, she was able to customize which chapters we learned so I could get the fundamentals of reading and writing without reviewing vocab and grammar I already knew.
