This was a great lesson. We started with a review of my prepared writing. After that, we spent time discussing topic with conversation starting questions. The topics were level appropriate and gave me a lot of confidence for my current level of ability.

Cô Minh Châu continues to be an excellent teacher. She is flexible and patient, always considering my schedule and convenience when scheduling our in-person lessons. The activities she prepares engage my attention and challenge my abilities to a useful extent. I am confident that I will continue to learn effectively under her tutelage.

I've been taking lessons with Miss Minh Châu for over 6 months now. I always have a fun time in class, we talk about recent events, sometimes I learn slang, and so far the speaking-based format of these lessons helps me learn faster than an environment like school. Ms Chau helps me understand pronunciation very well, and I was able to understand confusing concepts more easily because of her teaching.

Today we started with an update from my business trip last week. I told about my stay at an airBnb with 2 co-workers, in a bedroom hidden behind a bookshelf. I showed pictures from the restaurant Casa Bonita, which had decorations, a cave, a Mexican band, and cliff divers. After that we played a game where one person described a vocabulary word from a list, without using the word. The other person had to guess based on the clues. This was a very effective way to practice, needing to remember similar words and to make effective sentences. I hope we can play this again sometime. At the end of class I learned some new slang words that will be useful in conversation.

Cô Châu is such a fantastic teacher. She makes such good use of technologies such as picture games and quizzes. Today after a long discussion on US Thanksgiving, we had a review quiz on vocabulary and spelling. I am slowly improving with each lesson because of her teaching methods. I am able to have longer and longer discussions in Vietnamese, which helps to practice knowledge plus learn where to improve.

Just the best teacher, I learn best through conversation and I feel I am able to integrate new and old grammar points seamlessly. Really enjoy our lessons, cảm ơn cô!

Miss Minh Châu is an excellent teacher and very patient too. I love learning with her as she takes time to explain every questions I have. Sometimes i feel embarrassed that i don't remember certain things we've learned, but Miss Minh Châu will repeat until i get it. Thank you for the classes !!

Really great class today! I feel more and more confident speaking Vietnamese and I feel I am able to gain more vocabulary that I can apply. I think the games really force me to speak spontaneously, which is really great for learning.

This one was really fun and challenging. Even after learning the vocabulary of the lesson, it was quite challenging actually trying to book the ticket. I struggle with putting together the proper structure of a question, so it was great practice.

Very interesting class where we got to see a real life example of a wedding menu and what was served! I really enjoyed it, and it felt like a glimpse into Vietnamese life.

Tốn / mất were very useful words to learn...!! I really like learning about sentence structure because I feel it enables me to be able to connect my thoughts better. Great class today.

Today we learned numbers. It is actually a very difficult concept but navigated masterfully by the instructor.

One thing I like about taking lesson is that she sticks to the gameplan but she also challenges you by adding other words from a future lesson which makes learning easier. Today, I had trouble saying airport and that word was brought up 5 times throughout the lesson to hone it in.

The lesson was very challenging but something I look forward to with the guidance of the teacher. She is very easy going but also holds you accountable. She has a good way of teaching and will explain in a lot of other ways if you dont understand something.

I learned personal pronouns, and how to greet them for the first time! It was very easy to understand and Miss Chau made it very efficient to learn.

Ive been working with this instructor for a few months now and I can say I have noticeable improvement. She does not BS and holds me to a high standard which has helped me learn in my goal for fluency.

Great class with co Châu! We had quite a challenging class with classifiers, but we made it through! Co Châu is really quite talented with figuring out what I am trying to say as I am sure I have quite a strong accent! But she is so encouraging and always tries to validate what I am saying.

This series on learning directions to places is really very useful! I have really appreciated it and can see it being very applicable in daily life. I really appreciate that I was able to practice giving directions by navigating through a fictional map - it was very hands on and helped me to memorize the vocabulary much better!

This is another very interesting lesson that introduced a new structure ... không ... đâu. I appreciate how the lessons introduce new information while revising what has been learnt prior. The lessons can feel challenging at times but are always enjoyable. I am very pleased with how my Vietnamese is progressing. Cô Châu is a very good teacher.

I had another good lesson today. It focused on describing how food tastes (sweet, salty, bitter, sour, fatty). The lesson expanded on the previous lesson on how food is cooked. The new information is helping me talk about food in Vietnamese by applying a structure. Food, cooking method, taste. For example, Gà chiên béo quá! Fried chicken is too fatty!

This was a very interesting lesson that was tailored around my holiday in Singapore. I learnt how to talk about my holiday in Vietnamese. How I travelled there, what I did, what I liked, what food I ate. I also learnt about how to describe food. How its cooked and how it tastes. This is very useful for conversation when I'm eating with Vietnamese friends and family. I really appreciate the time my teacher took before my lesson to prepare.

We reviewed more on pronunciations and the rules, that I do need to continue reviewing more.

We learned some cooking terms today, which is really useful. I like building my daily vocabulary bank and I can see myself using these words as I like to cook often!

I learned rules on some Vietnamese consonants and words involving m, ng, nh. I will be reviewing them more!

Great class today! We went through the dialogue scenario in the class today and went through some of the listening exercises which were challenging, but nice! Learned how to apply Sắp tới which will be really useful as it is used often!

Today, I learned 2 ways to pronounce hwa and wa, with the labializations. Miss Chau made is very easy to navigate how to pronounce things and also helping me review some familiar stuff we have previously gone through! I've enjoyed today's lesson!

She is very good because she will continuous drill a concept throughout the lesson until you get it.

I really like how cô Châu tries to provide material that is really relevant for me. At this class, we learned about the seasons and we also used a very useful script for having my daughter go to bed. I really like it as I feel I can use it daily. Great class!

I am struggling with tone, but my pronunciation has improved with the help of Miss Chau's demonstrations! I'm starting to become more accustomed with the basics of what we've learned and I am willing to work harder on practicing my tone and pronunciation more!

Really fast paced class with cô Châu, which was a great mix of challenging and applicable. I like learning lots of colloquial phrases that I can use to express myself. Tôi quên rồi is a great example!

We reviewed a lot of previous lessons regarding to đúng không?/ phải không, and discussed more on semi vowels! I'm really enjoying learning more on Tiếng Việt so far and how really kind, patient and fun Miss Chau makes these lessons!

Thank you for the lesson, em! I always appreciate that you are patient and take great care to teach Vietnamese that is useful in everyday conversation. The lessons are always entertaining and funny, so they go by quickly even if I struggle with the Vietnamese sometimes.

Today's lesson was very interesting. Cô Châu applied the lesson theory to my personal circumstances. This will help me in conversation with others. I also learned some local slang terms and how to talk about temperature.

Learned some very useful terms with cô Châu today that I feel I can use on my daughter - ha. I also learned how to tell the date and ask for the date. What was really useful was learning about the placement of mấy and how a question could change in meaning. Really great class.

Though I was absent for this lesson, Miss Chau is very communicative and very helpful in keeping me in check/organized for future lessons. She's very helpful in finding a perfect schedule fit for me.

Great class with cô Châu! I learned some really useful grammar points today. I often mix up the placement of được but cô Châu is very patient in correcting me - I think it’s been three classes in a row that I’ve mixed it up. I really like the challenging nature of the classes, it really makes me think and I find I can apply it better in conversation with people outside the class.

Great class with cô Châu! We learned a couple of grammar points that they left my head feeling very jumbled but cô Châu was very very patient in teaching me and allowed me extra practice a little overtime or regular class schedule. Very thankful for your patience!!

I learned very well on the detailed rules of iê,ươ, uô with final consonants. I have struggled a bit but with studying outside of class, I've started to understand the basic rules of them!

Another great class with cô Châu and really challenging homework to go with it. I know writing is the weakest aspect of my language learning. Cô Châu gives really fantastic personalized feedback and helps me to see how I can improve! I also get the opportunity to learn lots of new vocabulary in the process.

This was a helpful lesson with Miss Minh Châu. There was a thorough review of some new pronunciation details, introduction of some longer sentences to practice pronunciation with coaching on the tough words, and some interesting new vocabulary. Great lesson overall.

This was a great lesson with cô Châu. She's very well prepared and brings a fun energy to the lesson. On the topic of pronunciation, she is very patient and encouraging, but also willing to correct sounds or tones when needed in a clear manner. It's cool to learn some slang and the Southern style of speaking, too.
