Meet Your AI Practice Assistant
The SVFF AI Practice Assistant is a smart chatbot that helps you practise Southern Vietnamese anytime, anywhere. It can hold conversations, correct your grammar, help with pronunciation, and quiz you on vocabulary — all powered by advanced AI technology. All responses and audio use the Southern dialect (giọng miền Nam).
How to Access the AI Assistant
- Look for the AI chat icon in the bottom-right corner of any page (it appears when you're logged in).
- Click it to open the chat widget.
- Type a message in Vietnamese or English to start practising.
Text Chat Mode
In text mode, you can:
- Have conversations — the AI adapts to your level and responds naturally in Vietnamese.
- Ask grammar questions — type "Explain the difference between đã and rồi" and get a clear explanation with examples.
- Request corrections — write a sentence and ask the AI to check it. It will highlight errors and suggest improvements.
- Practise specific topics — tell the AI "Let's practise ordering at a restaurant" and it will role-play with you.
Voice Mode
Voice mode lets you practise speaking and listening:
- Click the microphone icon in the chat widget.
- Speak in Vietnamese — the AI transcribes your speech and responds.
- Listen to the AI's spoken response to train your listening skills.
- The AI can point out pronunciation issues and suggest improvements.
Tip: Use a quiet environment and speak clearly for the best transcription accuracy.
Getting Feedback
The AI provides real-time feedback on:
- Grammar — incorrect word order, missing particles, tense errors
- Vocabulary — suggesting more natural or formal alternatives
- Pronunciation — tone corrections and common mistakes (voice mode)
- Cultural context — when a phrase might sound odd or impolite
Credit Usage
Each AI practice session costs 1 credit. A session lasts until you close the chat or 30 minutes of inactivity. Self-study courses and free activities do not require credits — only the interactive AI chat uses them.
Best Practices
- Try to write in Vietnamese first, even if it's not perfect — the AI will help you improve.
- Use voice mode at least once a week to build speaking confidence.
- Ask the AI to explain words you don't understand — it's like having a tutor on demand.
