Practice Scenarios — Real-Life Vietnamese Conversations

Practise Vietnamese in Real-Life Situations

Practice Scenarios let you role-play everyday Southern Vietnamese conversations with AI. It's like rehearsing for real life — order food at a phở restaurant, check into a hotel, visit a doctor, or haggle at a market — all in the Southern dialect spoken in Ho Chi Minh City and across southern Vietnam.

How It Works

  1. Go to svff.online/practice/scenarios
  2. Browse available scenarios and pick one that interests you
  3. Read the scenario setup — it tells you the situation, your role, and what you need to accomplish
  4. Start chatting in Vietnamese with the AI character (waiter, doctor, receptionist, etc.)
  5. The AI stays in character and responds naturally, just like a real Vietnamese person would

Credit Cost

Scenarios are the most affordable AI feature on SVFF:

  • 0.5 credits per message — that's 4x cheaper than the AI Tutor!
  • 1 credit per feedback report — get a detailed analysis of your performance

With just 50 credits, you can send 100 scenario messages — enough for several complete conversations.

Available Scenario Types

Scenarios cover real situations you'll encounter in Vietnam or with Vietnamese speakers:

  • At a Restaurant — order food, ask about menu items, request the bill
  • At a Hotel — check in, ask about amenities, report a problem
  • At the Market — ask prices, negotiate, buy groceries
  • At the Doctor — describe symptoms, understand instructions
  • Taking a Taxi — give directions, negotiate fare, ask to stop
  • Meeting Someone New — introduce yourself, ask questions, make plans
  • At the Bank — open an account, exchange currency, ask about services
  • And more — new scenarios are added regularly!

Getting Feedback on Your Performance

After completing a scenario, you can request a feedback report (1 credit). The report analyses:

  • Grammar accuracy — did you use correct sentence structures?
  • Vocabulary range — did you use varied, appropriate words?
  • Fluency & naturalness — did your responses sound natural?
  • Task completion — did you accomplish the scenario goal?
  • Specific corrections — exactly what you said vs what you should have said

Tips for Scenario Practice

  • Try Vietnamese first — even if it's broken, the AI understands and helps you improve
  • Stay in character — treat it like a real situation for the best practice
  • Repeat scenarios — do the same scenario multiple times to build confidence and fluency
  • Get the feedback report — it's only 1 credit and gives you specific things to improve
  • Start with easy scenarios — ordering food is simpler than visiting a doctor
