Messaging Your Teacher

Stay Connected Between Lessons

SVFF's built-in messaging system lets you communicate with your teacher between lessons. Ask questions, share homework, or discuss your learning goals — all within the platform.

Accessing Your Messages

  1. Go to svff.online/messages
  2. You'll see a two-panel layout:
    • Left panel — your conversation list (all message threads)
    • Right panel — the selected conversation

You can also access messages from the Inbox link on your dashboard, which shows an unread count badge when you have new messages.

Starting a New Conversation

  1. Click the "+ Compose" button (pencil icon) at the top of the conversation list
  2. Select the teacher you want to message from the dropdown
  3. Type your message
  4. Click "Send Message"

If you already have an existing conversation with that teacher, your new message will appear in the same thread.

Reading & Replying

  • Click any conversation in the left panel to open it
  • Messages are shown in chronological order (oldest first)
  • Type your reply in the text box at the bottom and click "Send"
  • Unread conversations show a red badge with the number of unread messages

Searching Conversations

Use the search box at the top of the conversation list to find specific threads. Search by teacher name or message content.

When to Message Your Teacher

  • Questions about homework — need clarification on an assignment
  • Grammar questions — something you want to follow up on from a lesson
  • Scheduling — discuss lesson times or rescheduling needs
  • Share your goals — let your teacher know what you want to focus on
  • Feedback — tell your teacher what works well and what you'd like to change

Notification Settings

Make sure "New messages" is enabled in your notification settings so you get notified when your teacher replies.
