Group Classes — How They Work

Learning Together: SVFF Group Classes

Group classes are a fun, affordable way to practise Vietnamese with other learners and a qualified teacher. They're perfect for building conversational skills and learning from your peers.

Finding Group Classes

  1. Go to Group Classes from the main navigation.
  2. Browse upcoming sessions — each one shows the topic, level (A1–C2), teacher, date/time, and number of seats remaining.
  3. Filter by level, topic, or time of day to find classes that suit you.

Popular Class Topics

  • Conversation Practice — guided discussions on everyday topics
  • Pronunciation Workshop — focus on tones, vowels, and common mistakes
  • News Discussion — read and discuss a short Vietnamese news article
  • Grammar Clinic — deep dive into a specific grammar point
  • Culture & Customs — learn about Vietnamese traditions through language

Booking a Group Class

  1. Click on a class to see the full description and teacher bio.
  2. Click Join Class — 2 credits are deducted from your balance.
  3. You'll receive a confirmation email with the video call link.
  4. A reminder is sent 1 hour before the class starts.

Classes have a minimum of 3 students. If fewer than 3 students book, the class will be cancelled and your credits will be returned to your account — this is the only case where credits are refunded. You can then use those credits for any other SVFF service (other group classes, 1-on-1 lessons, AI features, etc.).

What to Expect

Group classes are interactive and structured:

  • The teacher introduces the topic and key vocabulary (10 min).
  • Students practise in pairs or small groups using breakout rooms (30 min).
  • The class comes back together for a group discussion and feedback (20 min).

Don't worry about your level — classes are grouped by CEFR level so everyone is at a similar stage.

Benefits of Group Learning

  • More affordable than 1-on-1 lessons
  • Learn from other students' questions and mistakes
  • Build confidence speaking in front of others
  • Make friends in the SVFF learning community
