Usage notes
Frame: 'bisyllabic verb-split với chả second half' — inserts 'với chả' between two halves of a compound to express disapproval or sarcasm. 'Buôn bán' → 'buôn với chả bán' (= some 'business' this is). 'Thông cảm' → 'thông với cảm'. Often paired with 'gì (mà)' for stronger complaint: 'Buôn với bán gì mà chậm như rùa!'.
