Hello everyone! My name is , and I’m a Vietnamese teacher at SFF. In today’s lesson, we will focus on how to greet someone and introduce yourself in the Southern Vietnamese dialect.

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
✅ Ask someone for their name using “Cho hỏi anh/em tên gì?”
✅ Use the words “là” (to be) and “gì” (what) correctly.
✅ Make and answer yes/no questions in Vietnamese using “có… không?”
✅ Confidently greet someone, introduce yourself, and ask how they are doing.

💬 Trung: Dạ chào anh! Dạ cho anh hỏi, em tên gì?
💬 Phong: Dạ, em tên Trung. Vậy còn anh?
💬 Trung: Anh tên Phong.

• Cho hỏi = "Can I ask…?" (a polite way to start a question)
• Em tên gì? = "What is your name?"
  3️⃣ Dạ, em tên Trung. – "Yes, my name is Trung."
• Em tên Trung = "My name is Trung."
  4️⃣ Vậy còn anh? – "And you?" (Used to ask the question back)
  5️⃣ Anh tên Phong. – "My name is Phong."

📝 Grammar Tip:

• To ask someone’s name, use "Anh/chị/em tên gì?"
• To answer, use "Tôi tên là ."
